WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Tank Girl is a chaotic and fantastic futuristic action-adventure based upon the British comic strip created by Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett. The scene is a super bleak post nuclear future, the year is 2033 and Earth has been wounded by a meteor. Water is scarce. A mega-villain (Malcolm McDowell) controls the water and holds the world in his grasp. A girl with a renegade rock ‘n’ roll spirit, who wears lip gloss and drives a tank, is one of the survivors who wins everyone’s attention, including the half-man/half-kangaroo Rippers, because she’s got such immense angst and attitude. With her no fear policy and tough posture, Tank Girl (Lori Petty) sets out to bring some order into the wasteland, kicking butt non-stop.

LaserDisc Picture:
The Panavision® 2.35:1 picture is sharp and detailed with excellent contrast. Fleshtones are accurate and colors are rich and vibrant with deep solid blacks for a delightfully colorful and visually stimulating experience. The animation stills really pop, and the picture is solid with no noise or artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The surround sound is wonderfully aggressively with superb sound effects, natural dialogue, and a great music score.
