WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Reuniting the cast of A Fish Called Wanda, Fierce Creatures stars Kevin Kline as ruthless media mogul Rod McCain who acquires the Marwood Zoo in England. The sexy and ambitious Willa Weston (Jamie Lee Curtis) joins forces with McCain’s lecherous son, Vince (also Kevin Kline), in the hopes of transforming the zoo into a money-making attraction. However, the zoo’s new director (John Cleese) has a marketing scheme of his own that he’s certain will boost attendance—displaying only fierce creatures!

LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.50:1 framed picture exhibits excellent color fidelity with rich, warm colors, deep blacks and natural fleshtones. Sharpness and detail is superb, as well as both shadow detail and contrast. The picture quality is exemplary with only the slightest noise.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is nicely produced with a music score that renders a wide soundstage. Ambient effects are generally presented in stereo with both subtle and aggressive surround presence. Dialogue sounds natural with good spatial integration and excellent intelligibility making this one soundtrack that is sure to please.
