WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Space Jam is a great live action and animated comedy that stars Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes pals caught in a jam. A gang of space creatures kidnap the Looney Tunes to save their failing theme park. Bugs suggests a winner-take-all basketball game, unaware that the aliens are secretly armed with the ability to “absorb” talent from Earth’s top basketball players. But the Looney Tunes catch Michael Jordan to help play their game.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.92:1 picture presents superb quality in both animated and live-action sequences. Color fidelity, fleshtones and blacks are excellent with sharp and detailed images and only the slightest noise.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is fabulous on both the matrix PCM and Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete versions, especially during the toon scenes, with an aggressive surround presence and deep bass extension. The discrete soundtrack effectively uses the split surround capability to create a spectacular soundfield. Dialogue is generally natural sounding with good spatial integration.
