WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on a screenplay by Geir Eriksen & Eirik Ildahl, Head Above Water stars Cameron Diaz as Nathalie, a naive young woman married to George (Harvey Keitel), a Superior Court Judge nearly twice her age. Vacationing off the coast of Maine, Nathalie’s artistic childhood pal, Lance (Craig Sheffer) treats George to a night out fishing, leaving Nathalie alone to fend off the advances of her overbearing ex-boyfriend Kent (Billy Zane). By the next morning, Nathalie has a terrible secret and Lance and George have come home early, leaving a chain reaction of killer complications.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.85:1, is excellent with warm, natural colors, accurate fleshtones and deep solid blacks. Sharp and detailed and virtually noise free, this picture is very natural looking throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is well recorded and presented with a terrific music score that images wide and deep. Dialogue sounds natural with excellent spatial integration. Surround envelopment is both subtle and aggressive, making this soundtrack sure to please.
