WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Love Jones is a romantic comedy about Nina Mosely (Nia Long), a beautiful photographer and Darius Lovehall (Larenz Tate), a sweet-talking writer—two confused lovers who discover that one can never underestimate the power of a love jones. Although Darius often settles for Ms. Right Now, he senses a difference in Nina and pursues her relentlessly. His persistence pays off when the burned-one-too-many-times Nina finally lets her resistance down. When the duo get together, their battle of the sexes is one wild and head spinning roller coaster ride.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.82:1 picture begins with a black and white sequence that exhibits an excellent grayscale. Colors are fully saturated with natural fleshtones and deep, solid blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with excellent shadow detail. The picture is solid without noise or artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital and matrix PCM soundtracks are conventional sounding with the music score providing subtle envelopment, though often there is no signal in the discrete version. Dialogue sounds completely natural. Otherwise the sound is predominantly mono.
