WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on the novel by Cameron Hawley and nominated for four Academy Awards®, Executive Suite is a tension-filled movie classic with an extraordinary cast of characters. Just seconds after the president of a giant furniture company wires his secretary to call an executive meeting, he dies suddenly. As soon as word of his death spreads, a power struggle emerges between the board members at the top of the company while the factory workers wonder about their job security. As McDonald Walling (William Holden) strives to prevent the wrong man (Fredric March) from becoming the new president, he pits himself against the schemes of those in the executive suite. Executive Suite is a truly exciting classic that is sure to please.

LaserDisc Picture:
Matted at 1.68:1, the black and white picture exhibits an excellent grayscale that is sharp and detailed, but is marred by noise and artifacts. Blacks are solid with well defined shadow detail. Overall, this is an excellent example of a black and white film.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural with background noise and distortion that is distracting.
