WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
From the novel by Robert Rostand, The Killer Elite is anothher thrilling bloodbath action extravaganza by Sam Peckinpah. Mercentaies Mike Locken (Caan) and George Hansen (Duvall) are two friends and partners with a certain loyalty between them—a loyalty that means nothing when Hansen savagely betrays Locken. Angry, hurt and left with a shattered body, Locken is determined to get revenge on his double-crossing partner, and Hansen knows it. Enlisting the help of gun-smart Jerome Miller (Hopkins) annd his old pal Mac (Burt Young), Locken sets out on the hard-edged San Francisco streets to exact revenge.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, framed at 2.32:1, exhibits natural fleshtones and color fidelity with deep solid blacks, all of which seem oversaturated in interior scenes. Sharpness and detail is inconsistent throughout, while shadow detail is wanting in definition. Some noise and minor artifacts are apparent in this inconsistent presentation.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural that is compressed and distorted throughout.
