WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Everyone Says I Love You is an unforgettable musical comedy that tells the story of one wealthy, eccentric and romantically challenged extended family from New York’s Upper West Side. Whether it’s Steffi (Goldie Hawn) consoling her lovelorn ex-husband, Joe (Woody Allen), or daughter Skyler (Drew Barrymore) having doubts about her engagement to the wealthy Holden (Edward Norton) over escaped sociopath Charles (Tim Roth), Everyone Says I Love You is a hilarious comedy Woody Allen-style, and is filled with an all-star cast.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture’s exterior scenes look undersaturated with sometimes an unnatural yellowish tint. The 1.85:1 picture exhibits generally sharp and detailed images with mediocre shadow detail and contrast due to the unnatural color fidelity. This film has the typical Woody Allen look as in all his movies, except for slightly better sharpness and detail. Slight noise and artifacts are apparent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack technique used by Mr. Allen is unfortunately still undistinguished monaural.
