WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
John Glover reprises his Tony Award-winning role as twin brothers James and John in Terence McNally’s Love! Valour! Compassion! The beautiful lakefront Victorian home shared by Gregory (Stephen Bogardus) and his young, blind lover Bobby (Justin Kirk) is the vacation setting for their six houseguests over three holiday weekends. Strong emotions and celebrations prevail among the guests—HIV positive Buzz (Jason Alexander); conservative lovers Arthur (John Benjamin Hickey) and Perry (Stephen Spinella); Ramon (Randy Becker), the promiscuous Puerto Rican dancer; the ungiving lawyer John (Glover) and his generous twin James.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.82:1 picture exhibits poor oversaturated color fidelity throughout. Fleshtones exhibit unnatural yellow-orangeish hues. Images are generally sharp and detailed, but shadow detail and contrast are poor. Noise and artifacts are apparent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The PCM Dolby® Surround soundtrack is mediocre in sound quality with extensive ADR-produced dialogue. The music score is nicely recorded with subtle surrounds.
