WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on the characters created by Graham Yost, Speed 2: Cruise Control continues the story of Annie Porter (Bullock), who helped save a busload of passengers only a few years ago. Now, while on a cruise with her new boyfriend (Patric), a lunatic computer genius (Dafoe) has plans to destroy himself, the magnificent ocean liner and all of its passengers.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality is excellent and exhibits outstanding sharpness and detail. Color fidelity is superb throughout. Both interior and exterior photography is richly hued for a picture experience that is sure to please. The aspect ratio is 2.35:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital soundtrack is very discrete sounding, particularly in the split surround envelopment. The music score is sweeping in its soundstage, but dialogue, while generally natural sounding, is ADR-produced and wanting in spatial integration. Bass extension is deep and powerful with excellent .1 low frequency effects. The PCM matrix soundtrack is clostrophobic when compared to the Dolby Digital soundtrack.
