WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Magnificent must-have collectors edition of the movie that captured America’s heart. Lots of supplements included with the story about human values when a boy who tries to save his alien friend.

LaserDisc Picture:
This is an absolute superb digital transfer matted to about 1.78:1. The picture has such a feeling of reality to it that you can accept the fact that this fantastic story is really happening. Allen Daviau has realistically photographed everything to look natural including the everyday sources of light from lamps, windows, daylight and moonlight.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The spectacularly recorded music score by three-time Oscar®-winning John William is what really carries the emotional impact of this film with its warm melodic tonal elements and rich, vibrant and stirring dramatic counterpoints.
