WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
No other film can rival the epic spectacle and breathtaking grandeur of James Cameron’s Titanic. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are the star-crossed lovers who find themselves fighting for survival on the doomed luxury liner. The highest-grossing motion picture of all time, Titanic won eleven Oscars® including Best Picture and Best Director.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.25:1 picture is the same superb transfer as the LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 29. All aspects of image and sonic quality are superior, for an overall emotionally breathtaking experience.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The DTS® Digital Surround discrete 5.1 soundtrack sounds more coherent and seamless with full scale holosonic soundfield delineation. Low level ambient resolution delivers smoother, fuller sonic quality. Bass energy extends to below 25Hz, and is capable of window-cracking vibration, especially when enhanced by .1 LFE. The romantic music score is wonderfully recorded, with excellent soundstage depth. Dialogue, though ADR-processed, sounds natural throughout. This soundtrack is the preferred reference.
