WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Broken Arrow is the story of the deadly conflict between two jet missile pilots (John Travolta and Christian Slater)—one corrupt, the other trying to save the fate of his country.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture appears to be sourced from the same transfer as the THX®-certified LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 27, but this LaserDisc is not credited as being THX-certified. While overall the picture elements are excellent, fleshtones appear slightly orange in hue and colors are slightly exaggerated. The apsect ratio is 2.30:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
As with the previous Dolby® Digital LaserDisc, the DTS® Digital Surround discrete 5.1 soundtrack is exceptionally spacious. The aggressive use of directional discrete surrounds create a dimensional holosonic experience with slightly more coherent integration. Bass extension is extremely deep and powerful, with explosive moments, supersonic booms and blasts that you feel in your gut. This is one soundtrack that demands 20Hz bass capability at each principal speaker position to be optimized. Dialogue is largely ADR-recorded but has been well produced and the music score is dynamic and expansive.
