WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
After capturing a notorious drug trafficker in Police Story, Jackie Chan is assigned to protect the key prosecution witness. But the job turns out to be more dangerous than he could even imagine. When he is framed for murder and, pursued by both criminals and lawmen, Chan must come up with his own brand of justice to clear his name. Filled with stunts and martial arts action, Police Story is a sure-fire winner for Jackie Chan fans.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, framed at 2.40:1, exhibits good color fidelity with natural fleshtones, rich and vibrant colors and deep, but sometimes undefined blacks. Images are generally sharp and detailed with good image clarity. Contrast and shadow delineation are good, as well, and both noise and artifacts are minimal for a pleasing picture.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack is quite satisfying with a nicely spatial soundfield presentation and aggressive surround presence. The music score, which is generally well recorded, sounds dynamic and effectively enhances the action sequences, punctuated with deep bass. Dialogue, though well recorded, sounds completely dubbed and is not synchronized. This is a mediocre soundtrack though very enjoyable.
