WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Hurricane Streets—sometimes tenderly; often, with harsh reality—tells the story of Marcus (Brendan Sexton III), a good-hearted teenage thief growing up in a bad neighborhood. When he meets and falls for a girl who could turn his life around, they plan to go off together to live with her uncle in New Mexico until a gang talks Marcus into just one more job.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted at 1.82:1. The opening black and white sequence exhibits a generally good grayscale with sharp and detailed images and good contrast. The picture exhibits fully saturated colors, with natural fleshtones, rich and vibrant colors and deep, solid blacks. Sometimes colors appear slightly oversaturated and plugged up in darker interiors. Images are generally sharp and detailed, with good contrast and shadow delineation. There is minor noise apparent throughout, but no distracting artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The matrix PCM soundtrack is a low budget production with inconsistencies. Dialogue sounds natural but wanting in spatial integration. The music score is genenally well recorded, with occasionally effective deep bass and aggressive surround, but the overall sound is mediocre at best.
