WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Senseless is the story of Darryl Witherspoon (Marlon Wayans), an economics student desperate to pay his college tuition and earn enough money to keep his family afloat. While Darryl prepares to enter a competition that could provide him with a $60,000 paycheck, he takes on one more job in which he agrees to take an untested drug that will heighten all of his senses. He feels he has found the ultimate weapon to win the competition, but the drug’s side effects might leave him utterly senseless.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.85:1, exhibits overall pleasing image quality. Only sometimes does the picture seem wanting in natural crispness, with fleshtones appearing slightly orange and plugged up. Otherwise, images are sharp and detailed with excellent color fidelity. Occasional artifacts are apparent, but do not distract from the picture.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack delivers a super soundfield experience that at times is positively exciting. The bass extension in the surround channel, in one particular scene, is extremely deep to 25Hz with powerful SPL. The music score is nicely recorded and presented. Dialogue generally sounds natural and is mostly effectively integrated spatially.
