Subscribe FreeBased on the screenplay by Neil Simon, the 1999 version of The Out-Of-Towners stars Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn in the roles made famous by Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis. Henry and Nancy Clark are a frumpy Midwestern couple given the opportunity to relocate to New York City. But when they arrive in town for Henry’s interview, they experience a comedy of errors that threaten their luggage, their marriage and their very lives. John Cleese is fantastic as the cross-dressing hotel manager Mr. Mersoult.
