WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Bobby Bowfinger (Martin) is a struggling producer who needs a break. So when his accountant writes a screenplay, Bobby decides he needs Hollywood’s biggest name for the starring role. The trouble is, Kit Ramsey (Murphy) doesn’t want to be in his movie. No matter. He’ll just film Kit when he’s not looking!

LaserDisc Picture:
The LaserDisc seems slightly soft when viewed on larger home theatre displays. The picture is still very pleasing. Colors are naturally rendered with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered for a picture that will surely please. There are no artifacts or noise on this 1.85:1 LaserDisc.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel discrete soundtrack is a nice sonic presentation. The soundfield and sound effects are biased toward the screen, and surround envelopment is subtle. The music is dynamic and fills the listening space. Fidelity throughout the soundtrack is remarkable. Voices are natural-sounding and spatial integration is impressive. While the matrix PCM delivers a slightly more spacious surround soundfield, the discrete offers somewhat cleaner, deeper bass and a soundfield that is more refined in spatial dimension.
