WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Wowser! Remember that great cartoon by Andy Heyward, Jean Chalopin & Bruno Bianchi called Inspector Gadget? Well, this isn’t it. What it is is a live-action version starring Matthew Broderick as a mild-mannered security guard who is nearly exterminated by the evil Dr. Claw (Everett). Brilliant scientist Dr. Brenda Bradford (Fisher) puts her robotics theories to the test and transforms him into the ultimate crime-fighting tool.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.80:1 LaserDisc exhibits a very pleasing picture. Images are sharp and finely detailed. Colors are naturally rendered with accurate fleshtones, vibrant hues and deep blacks. The LaserDisc stands as an impressive example of its format. There are no distracting artifacts or noise for a picture that will surely please throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack is a fine sonic presentation. The dialogue production is first-rate, with voices sounding very natural and with excellent spatial integration. Sound effects are consistently spacious and enveloping, and are effectively distributed to the split surrounds. The matrix Dolby Surround PCM audio delivers a downright impressive sonic experience in its own right.
