Story Synopsis

From the unique mind of comic book creator Bob Burden come Mystery Men, seven second-string superheros determined to prove their worth in the crime fighting game. Alas, their home town, Champion City, already has a superhero in residence. But, when Captain Amazing (Kinnear) is captured by an evil madman (Rush), the blue collar crew spring into action to show Champion City—and the world—their highly specialized superheroic powers. There’s Mr. Furious (Stiller) who’s really, really angry; Blue Raja (Azaria) who foils his foes with cutlery—when it’s okay with his mom; The Bowler (Garafalo) who seeks to avenge the death of her father with a bowling ball that houses the skull of her murdered pop; Invisible Boy who’s only invisible when no one’s looking; The Shoveler (Macy), who can dig with lightning speed and wields his spade like a Ninja’s sword; Sphinx (Studi), whose never-ending clichés and philosophizing might possibly irritate a bad guy into submission and finally, The Love Child Of Love Canal: The Spleen (the inimitable Paul Reubens), who fends off his oppressors with noxious odious emissions.
