Story Synopsis:
Caught Up is a sexy, stylish thriller that features Bokeem Woodbine as Daryl Allen, whose streak of bad luck appears to change when he meets the beautiful Vanessa (Cynda Williams). But when Vanessa’s friend (Joseph Lindsey) offers him a job—one of his routine trips delivering a Cadillac—he discovers a dead body in the trunk. Determined to learn the truth, Daryl confronts Vanessa and soon finds that he has been framed for murder.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.90:1, exhibits good color fidelity with natural fleshtones, rich and warm colors and deep, solid blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with nicely rendered shadow delineation and contrast. Only some interior scenes near bright windows seem too contrasted. Noise is occasionally apparent in darker interiors, but artifacts are minimal for a pleasing visual experience.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack is often spatially enveloping with an aggressive surround presence. Bass is emphasized throughout the music score and centered at about 40Hz to 50Hz and is prominent in the surround channel. Dialogue is slightly muffled, but is spatially integrated. Surround envelopment is aggressive and effective.
