This Special Edition dossier includes “The World Of 007,” an original television special hosted by Elizabeth Hurley; the original featurette and over 15 trailers and television spots in CAV; the GoldenEye music video performed by Tina Turner; Italian, French and German language dubs of Pierce Brosnan as Bond plus a behind the scenes running commentary from the director and producer which discusses how the big set pieces were accomplished using model effects, digital computer effects and live action footage, and describing the contributions and challenges faced by the many artisans who worked on the film. The quality of the project is first rate and a tribute to the late Albert Broccoli, the Bond series producer who died after its completion at age 87.

WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Armed with his licence to kill, Bond (Brosnan) races to Russia in search of the stolen access codes for “GoldenEye,” an awesome space weapon that can fire a devastating electromagnetic pulse toward Earth. As Bond squares off against his evil former compatriot, Alex Trevelyn, aka Agent 006 (Bean), he also battles Trevelyan’s stunning ally, Xenia Onatopp (Janssen), who crushes victims with pleasure between her ultra-toned thighs. Trivia note: GoldenEye was the name of Ian Fleming’s Jamaican home.

LaserDisc Picture:
Shot in Panavision®, the THX®-quality assured picture is presented at 2.35:1. Picture quality is stunning and exemplary in every visual aspect!

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound could be described at the 007 Thrill Ride! The directional spatial effects on the Dolby® AC-3® track creates a wonderful enveloping soundfield. The Dolby Digital version consistently performed better than the ProLogic® decoded version as a spatial experience. Both mixes are extremely boomy with bass energy centered at about 40Hz with extension to below 25Hz! The sound pounds and is loud. The sound designers have achieved excellent ambiance delineation particularly in the use of the discrete surrounds.
