WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) is a no-name hockey player whose wicked slap shot converts into a 400-yard tee shot with the potential for big bucks. Happy hits the fairways, turning the Pro Golf Circuit into a contact sport. Throwing tantrums and his clubs on the course, punching fans, his rivals and even Pro-Am participant, TV game show host Bob Barker, Happy outrages the establishment on national TV.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality is superb with vibrant colors, natural fleshtones, and deep, solid blacks. Contrast is excellent with sharp and detailed images and virtually no noise or artifacts. The picture is matted at 1.85:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is conventional with poorly ADR-recorded and unnatural dialogue. Surround envelopment is virtually non-existent except for an occasional musical interlude. While some effects are in stereo the focus is mono.
