WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Dissatisfied that her relationship will not develop with Ramon, an obsessive lingerie photographer with a bad heart, Kika (Forqué) gets her kicks elsewhere. Her sexuality is rejuvenated with Ramon’s stepfather, the accomplished writer, Nicholas Prisse (Coyote). The household gets even kinkier with a lesbian in love with Kika, and Kika’s satyr ex-porno star turned escaped convict brother, who stops by for an engaging visit under the watchful eyes of a voyeur and a trash talk show host. Kika is surely a hysterical sexual romp.

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.78:1 picture has ugly colors on top of poor color fidelity. In some scenes colors appear undersaturated while in others colors are oversaturated. Fleshtones are inconsistent resulting in a poor picture presentation. Slight noise and artifacts also are apparent throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack’s dialogue is ADR-dubbed and extremely forward sounding and unnaturally spatial. There is noise throughout. Sound effects are generally directional and wrap into the surround channel, and aided by the music score provides ambiant envelopment.
