The Future Of Cinema Is HDTV

The Los Angeles Film School has announced the beginning of construction on a Sony High-Definition digital soundstage. This will be Sony's only professional High-Definition digital stage in a school throughout North America. The arrival of High Definition Television (HDTV) is the most significant development in television technology since the advent of color television in the 1950's. HDTV has the capability to provide much clearer and sharper, cinema-like pictures. ""With the transition from analog to High Definition underway, we feel that it is very important for us to give our students the chance to stay on top of the future of filmmaking,"" said film school Dean Amedeo D'Adamo. Unique features of the Sony High-Definition, digital state-of-the-art soundstage and equipment includes the following: - The latest Sony High-Definition cameras, switching equipment, as well as up and down conversion capabilities. - A cinematographic 16:9 (1.78:1) format - A film speed of 24 frames per-second. - Complete Sony High-Definition editing bays, with Digital Video, Digital Beta, and Avid compatibility. - ""Filmation"" film replication capabilities. - High Definition production marks the first step into digital film projection and the soundstage is digitally linked to the projection theatre.
