Ultra-Bright Rear Screen Projection System offers Giant, High Performance Image and Installation Simplicity for Ambient Light Venues Throughout the Home [The following is a release from Digital Projection International]

September 15, 2008

Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy® Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, is launching an alternative to oversized plasma screens at CEDIA 2008. The TITAN RP97, designed for use in media rooms, family rooms and other home venues with ambient light, portrays an extraordinary 97" image with the saturated colors, deep contrast and stellar dynamic range that have made DPI's projectors the reference standard for Home Cinema use. With the TITAN RP97, the impeccable imaging of DP's legendary projection systems can now be deployed in any venue in the home. The TITAN RP97 pairs DPI's powerful and efficient TITAN 1080p 500 projector with an optically precise, Black Bead Fresnel screen to assure cinema quality imagery, even in high ambient light environments. According to George Walter, Vice President of Home Cinema for DPI, "When used in rooms with very high ambient light, black levels are preserved and contrast ratios are exceptionally high. Unlike any other product, the size of the screen and the exquisite dynamics of the image enable the TITAN RP97 to deliver a cinema viewing experience in a non-theatrical environment." Designed to integrate into new construction projects as well as retrofit into existing spaces, the RP97 can be installed in the equivalent space of a large coat closet, revealing only a dark matte 97" black screen that is flush with the wall. Assembly of the TITAN RP97 is straightforward and requires no wall mounting hardware. Installation is easily managed on site by two technicians. While the RP97 is remarkable in its installation simplicity and stellar image quality, the product is also extraordinary in it's low power consumption and operational efficiency. At the heart of the brilliant 97" image is DP's award winning TITAN 500 series projector, a native 1080p, 3-chip DLP projection display that produces more lumens from less energy than any other projector in its class. At just 750 watts, the TITAN RP97 operates on less than 50% of the power consumed by similar sized plasma displays. The significantly lower power consumption results in a lower cost of ownership as well as reduced heat production, thus lowering the burden and cost of air conditioning to cool the venue. Equipped with DP's exclusive twin-lamp system, the RP97 can operate up to 3000 hours, the equivalent of 4 hours a day for 2 full years, before the first low-cost lamp replacement is required. DPI's dedication to a respected and constantly evolving product range is demonstrated by the numerous recent product line innovations and investments made throughout the company. CEDIA 2008 in Denver, Colorado, provides a perfect opportunity to experience DPI's innovation, as the brand-new TITAN RP97 will be launched along with other new home entertainment solutions. Experience DPI's CEDIA exhibition at booth number 1036, September 4-7.
