CEDIA Supports Home Technology TV Series On DIY Network

Hollywood Hi-Tech show will feature technology makeovers in celebrity homes

January 4, 2011

The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has announced it will participate as an event sponsor at the launch event for Hollywood Hi-Tech, an upcoming show on the DIY Network that will show sophisticated technology installations in celebrity homes. CEDIA will support the show and will work closely with its host to help illustrate the benefits of working with a professional electronic systems contractor. The Hollywood Hi-Tech series will show viewers the latest and greatest technologies integrated into innovative custom installations. The show will follow lifestyle-technology expert Janna Robinson as she gives celebrities’ homes the ultimate technology makeover. Leading CEDIA member manufacturers are involved with the show, and CEDIA member electronic systems contractor Robert’s Home AV is signed on to participate in the first five episodes. “Hollywood Hi-Tech is the first show of its kind, and CEDIA is thrilled to be involved with the program,” said CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin. “This series will offer an exciting look at the wide-ranging benefits of residential technologies while demonstrating to viewers the importance of working with a professional electronic systems contractor.” CEDIA’s Electronic Lifestyles® Finder Service will be featured on the show’s website, making it easy for homeowners as well as design and build professionals to find qualified CEDIA members in their area. “Hollywood Hi-Tech is the very first time that high-end custom installation has been featured in a weekly TV series, and CEDIA has done an amazing job at supporting our show,” said series host Janna Robinson. “They are helping us spread the word about the series, providing the same kind of solid support that they have given the custom install industry for years.” Hollywood Hi-Tech will feature such celebrities as Khloe Kardashian, Lamar Odom, Jeremy Piven, and Josh Duhamel. The celebrities themselves will be involved throughout the makeover process, from the initial consultation to the unveiling of the finished room. The series will premiere in June 2011. Press attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) are invited to the launch event for Hollywood Hi-Tech, to be held at the Crazy Horse Paris at MGM Grand Thurs., Jan. 6 at 6:30 p.m. CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin will be available onsite for comment.
