August 7, 2018
Onkyo USA today announced it has acquired exclusive distribution rights to market and distribute TEAC’s home entertainment products in the U.S. and Latin America. As a result of the agreement, TEAC now has access to one of the industry’s strongest marketing and distribution networks that spans the full retail spectrum, and joins Onkyo USA’s roster of acclaimed consumer electronics brands including Onkyo, Pioneer, Pioneer ELITE, Integra and Esoteric.
The first range of products to benefit from Onkyo USA’s extensive network includes:
- NR-7CD Network CD Player / Integrated Amplifier: the inaugural offering in TEAC’s new Reference 7 series, the NR-7CD is an all-in-one amplifier, network player and CD player solution that’s perfect for Hi-Res Audio formats. From high-res master audio sources such as DSD 5.6MHz and PCM 384kHz/32-bit to MQA formats via online services like TIDAL or simply streamed from a Bluetooth®-enabled device, the NR-7CD flawlessly handles them all.
- The NT-505 USB DAC Network Player is a flagship dual monaural USB DAC with versatile network playback capabilities. It successfully incorporates the latest network technologies, along with TEAC’s decades of accumulated audio design experience in an attractive package with a small footprint. The NT-505 offers superb processing performance (using AKM VERITA DACs) geared towards network audio that is delivered from PC or NAS (Network Attached Server) and controlled via free TEAC apps for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. On the network audio side, the NT-505 supports high-quality music subscription services, including TIDAL and Qobuz, and is Roon compatible. There’s also a built-in MQA decoder, and users can enjoy unlimited music content on the Internet thanks to the unit’s high-quality digital and analog processing technologies.
- CG-10M Master Clock Generator: an all-new master clock generator (MCG) for Hi-Res Audio. The CG-10M delivers an extremely accurate clock signal to allow Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) to perform at their ultimate best. The heart of the MCG is a crystal oscillator encased in in a temperature-controlled "oven" to ensure the best performance under an ideal temperature condition for crystal oscillation. This generates an extremely accurate 10MHz clock signal which is within ±3 ppb of frequency temperature characteristics and within ±0.1 ppm of frequency precision. Remarkable performance from a remarkable product.
“TEAC is a world-renowned brand with high-quality offerings across a variety of price points that give the line retail flexibility as well as access to a wide audience – from the professional recording studio right down to the casual listener,” said Jason Sausto, CEO of Onkyo USA. “Onkyo USA has built its reputation on excellent customer service and channel expertise, and TEAC’s newly refreshed and diverse lineup should benefit from both.”
