Genelec Displays Immersive 7.1.4 System At NAB

At this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, Genelec (booth C4748) will be demonstrating a selection of its Active Monitors in an immersive 7.1.4 Atmos® configuration. Immersive audio is one of the most exciting developments in professional and consumer audio, thanks to its ability to place listeners in the middle of a 3D audio environment through the addition of four overhead height channels to the more traditional 7.1 horizontal surround space.

The system is composed of S360A Smart Active Monitors™ (L-C-R), 8341A’s (side and rear), 8331A’s (overheads), and 7382A and 7360A subwoofers (sub and bass management). These models will be used to demonstrate monitoring solutions for immersive mixing for music and post in Atmos.

Additionally, Genelec is making available a new set of educational tools aimed at helping professionals to better understand and make use of Immersive Audio. Titled Genelec Immersive Solutions, the publication includes a comprehensive overview of the requirements for creating an effective immersive audio setup, including insights into the most commonly adopted formats and the Genelec solutions required to make the most of them.
