KEF Adds New Colors For Its LS50 Loudspeakers

Press Release

British hi-fi brand KEF has expanded its popular LS50 Series, which is sold at JB Hi-Fi, with two new colourways: Moss Green and Sand Shell.

Both the passive LS50 Meta and active LS50 Wireless II models are now available in these nature-inspired tones.

Moss Green is described by KEF as a colour representing “balance and restoration,” designed to evoke calm and stability, while Sand Shell offers a soft, neutral off-white that blends seamlessly into modern living spaces.

The new finishes join the existing Carbon Black, Titanium Grey, Mineral White, and select limited-edition colour options.

The LS50 Series is celebrated for its 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array, where a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter sits within a 13cm mid/bass unit for consistent sound across a room.

Both models also feature KEF’s Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a maze-like internal structure that absorbs 99% of unwanted sound, drastically reducing distortion and enhancing clarity.

The key difference between the two models lies in connectivity and amplification. The LS50 Meta is a passive speaker requiring an external amplifier, ideal for traditional hi-fi setups, while the LS50 Wireless II offers built-in amplification, wireless streaming, and support for high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/384kHz.

The Wireless II is compatible with Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal, and other major streaming services, and includes HDMI, optical, and analog inputs for wired sources.

The new Moss Green and Sand Shell LS50 speakers are priced at A$1,599.99 for the LS50 Meta and A$2,999.99 for the LS50 Wireless II.
