Vidikron of America, the world leader in high-performance video projectors and support components, demonstrated the advanced capabilities of a new edition of its highly acclaimed HDTV-compatible Vision One CRT Projector at CES 2000, the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The original Vision One was designed with a host of technical breakthroughs to provide viewers with extremely bright, clear, distortion-free pictures, regardless of aspect-ratio, picture size or mounting considerations. The new Ultimate Vision One is equipped both with a direct digital input to simplify the display of HDTV image and with a new set of proprietary modifications that further enhance picture detail and dynamics.Designed for use with ultra-high performance video line doublers and quadruplers, the Vision One is equally at home displaying high-resolution video or SVGA computer images at a 2500x2000-pixel resolution on screens ranging from 90 to 300 inches in size. The Vision Oneís extremely high frequency raster circuitry and ultra-wide video bandwidth ensure compatibility with video gear of the highest quality and make it the projector of choice for those who want the best in image quality. In addition to the direct digital input for HDTV displays, the new Vision One features a series of refinements designed to further enhance picture quality. The enhancements demonstrate Vidikronís continuing effort to push forward the leading edge of display technology. The Vision Oneís other notable features include Scheimpflug-design lens adjustments, which assure perfect corner-to-corner picture focus, especially when the projector is ceiling mounted at a level above the top of the viewing screen. A nine-zone electronic astigmatism correction system assists the Scheimpflug adjustments in delivering amazing picture sharpness from extra large, liquid-coupled, nine-inch color tubes and ten-inch f/1.1 lenses.Advanced active adjustments under computer control include automatic contrast modulation, which assures uniform picture brightness, even at the edges and corners of the screen; ""gamma"" correction to maintain correct color balance at all brightness levels; and automatic control of vertical linearity, which assures that objects and people in a picture are always correctly proportioned.Other advances for which the Vision One is known include active blanking for each edge of the picture, which assures an exact fit of the picture to the screen without fringing or overscan; computer-controlled screen-size and aspect-ratio set-ups, which are stored in non-volatile memory; and a computer-controlled, 45-zone automatic convergence alignment that delivers perfect picture registration for all three color tubes. The Ultimate Vision One is a prototype with the latest modifications to the world class Vision One.
