To better serve the needs of the international professional audio community, DTSÆ has created a new Professional Audio Divison. A talented team has been assembled to lead the group, which bring to DTS over sixty-five years of combined experience in entertainment technology. It includes Chris Hollebone, Ross Hering and Brad Plunkett.The division will launch the first professional products from DTS, the new CAE-4 Professional Encoder and the CAE-4 decoder. These companion products are designed specifically for studios and mastering facilities to encode soundtracks and music content in the DTS format for DVD and CD.Mr. Hollebone has been with DTS in the UK for three years, and he lends considerable experience to the Pro Audio Group as Director of European Sales. Chris joined DTS after a distinguished fifteen years of service to Sony Broadcast & Professional Europe, most recently as General Manager for Professional Audio.Mr. Hering was hired as Vice President of Marketing for the Professional Audio Group in November 1999. He brings to DTS fifteen years of success in the entertainment industry, developing and marketing technology-based businesses related to film sound. He was instrumental in the development of Lucasfilm's THXÆ division where, for its first decade, he worked closely with Tomlinson Holman to establish THX as an internationally recognized standard of excellence for film sound. He comes to DTS directly from technical service provider DES, where as Vice President of Marketing, he was responsible for strategic development, branding, and positioning the company within emerging Internet-based markets.DTS recently named Brad Plunkett Vice President of Engineering. He is responsible for all day-to-day engineering activities for the company. He brings to DTS over 30 years of experience in electronics engineering and design, leading to the manufacture of innovative products for audio recording and reproduction. Mr. Plunkett joins the company directly from Harman International where he served in a variety of executive engineering positions during his sixteen years with the corporation. He is an AES Fellow and holds sixteen U.S. and foreign patents in the fields of electronic music, instrumentation, and sound field manipulation. Brad is the inventor of the infamous ""Wah Wah Pedal,"" which revolutionized the sound of Rock 'n Roll guitar in the late sixties.
