Cinram International revealed it is the first participant to earn the prestigious ""IRMA Anti-Piracy Certificate of Compliance"" as awarded at IRMA's 30th Annual Recording Media Forum held in LaQuinta, California. Cinramís US President and CEO Dave Rubenstein accepted the award and stated, ""We are extremely proud of this achievement and encourage all our competitors to support IRMA in this most important crusade against piracy."" Cinram successfully completed an extensive audit of procedures and process controls that are aimed at eliminating piracy at the manufacturing plant prior to the replication or duplication process. Further ongoing follow-up surveillance audits will be conducted at six-month intervals to monitor compliance. Kenny Aldridge, Cinramís Manager of Technical Services and key management representative, established the internal program and ensures the system is maintained in accordance with the IRMA Anti-Piracy Compliance Program. Aldridge commented, ""In many ways this certification is more challenging than ISO in that we not only are responsible for controlling our own procedures, but also we had to involve the support of our customer base as well."" The IRMA Anti-Piracy Compliance Program was developed with input and support from the IRMA Anti-Piracy Coalition, comprising optical media replicators, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Business Software Alliance (BSA), the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA), the Interactive Digital Software Association (IDSA) and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
