DVD Video Group Unveils Redesigned Web Site

The DVD Video Group has announced a redesigned Web site (www.dvdvideogroup.com), providing users not only a new look, but also a more comprehensive resource for information on all aspects of DVD-Video. One of the recently added features allows users to search for their nearest DVD-Video software retailer by entering their zip code. The database includes thousands of video stores throughout the U.S. and gives consumers the store name, address and phone number of the five closest stores. Store locations include a map made available by MapQuestís InnerConnect. This database was compiled in partnership with the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA). In addition to the weekly top DVD Video sales lists, the site also allows users to search some 2,500 titles by title, studio, genre or rating, as well as keep an eye on upcoming release dates. Site visitors also have the option to look at Academy Award Winning ""Best Picture"" titles now available on DVD-Video. Visitors with questions about hardware are now provided extensive lists of suggested retail prices and feature comparisons for the DVD-Video player manufacturers and models. The Web site also provides comprehensive information about DVD-Video technology, including the ""Top 10 Things Everyone Must Know About DVD Video,"" answers to frequenty asked questions and definitions of terms consumers face when first introduced to the technology. Web site visitors are also able to view a DVD-Video demo on Macromedia Shockwave. The DVD Video Group is a Los Angeles-based, industry-funded nonprofit corporation that exists expressly to promote consumer awareness of the benefits of DVD-Video and to provide updated information to the media and the retail trade about DVD-Video players, movies and music videos.
