Yamaha Electronics Delivers New Home Theatre Product Lineup At CEDIA EXPO 2002

Yamaha Electronics Corporation introduced several new audio and video components at CEDIA EXPO 2002. New entries included two video projectors, a plasma display, DVD players, a DVD recorder, A/V receivers, and micro-component systems. The DPX-1000 is Yamaha's new high-end projector, which incorporates Texas Instrument's second-generation DLPô technology. Yamaha's flagship DVD-S2300 single-disc player supports DVD-Audio and SACD, as well as progressive scan with Faroudja DCDi video processing. It features 54 MHz/12-bit video DACs and comprehensive bass management. Yamaha is also offering the DVD-S530, which plays MP3, Video CDs, and SVCDs. The new receivers include the RX-V1300, RX-V2300, and RX-V3300. Rated at 100, 110, and 130 watts per channel, respectively, these receivers are designed for 6.1-channel (RX-V3300 has 8.1 channels) playback and feature Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART, 192 kHz/24-bit audio DACs for all channels, 32-bit DSP, and compatibility with all surround formats. In addition, the RX-V2300 and RX-V3300 feature an RS-232C interface for custom installation. The Yamaha PDM-1 is a 50-inch, 16:9 high-definition plasma monitor, featuring Yamaha's ""Natural Black,"" said to yield a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The monitor features a pearl white bezel. Yamaha's new DRX-1 DVD recorder uses the DVD+RW format, which makes it compatible with most DVD players. The DVD+RW discs are also re-recordable without having to be finalized or definalized. Yamaha's new LPX-500 is an LCD projector that offers true 16:9 HDTV compatibility for 720p. The unit features DCDi video processing and a short-throw lens. Yamaha has expanded its line of Cinema Station home theatre systems with the introduction of the DVX-S60, a 5.1-channel system package with a DVD player. Yamaha also displayed the YST-SW1500, their new flagship subwoofer, the CDR-HD1000, and the MCR-300 and MCR-500 PianoCraft micro-component systems. The YST-SW1500 subwoofer features the latest in Yamaha's YST and QD bass technology, and is available in a choice of Black or Cherry Wood finishes. The PianoCraft MCR-300 and MCR-500 micro-component systems are finished in the high-gloss black lacquer used in Yamaha's line of pianos, and feature two-way bass reflex speakers.
