Digital Television (DTV) Summit Program

The upcoming fifth Digital Television (DTV) Summit, sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association (CEMA) and co-located with Digital Hollywood, promises to be the most informative yet with the focus on content, programming and up-to-the minute information on the DTV transition. The Summit will be held September 28, 1999 in Los Angeles, California. Representatives of all the major DTV-related industries are co-sponsoring the event including: Maximum Service Television, Inc. (MSTV), North American Retail Dealers Association (NARDA), the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the National Cable Television Association (NCTA), the Satellite Broadcasting Communications Association (SBCA), the Professional Audio/Video Retailers Association (PARA) and the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE). In addition, promotional sponsors include the publications TWICE and Shoot. ""This Summit is a must-attend event for anyone in the business of DTV,"" said CEMA President Gary Shapiro. ""The Summit will continue to provide an opportunity for our industries to discuss our DTV plans and work together to bring consumers the products and programming that will make DTV a success."" The Summit will cover the latest information on DTV set sales, broadcasting roll out plans, and consumers' response to DTV. Additionally, the Summit sessions will address post-production challenges and opportunities, set-top boxes, format, bandwidth and other delivery options. (See program attached).
