Continuing to build on the tremendous success of their full-featured line of DVD players Pioneer Electronics has introduced the first of their 4th generation DVD players, the DV-525. For about the price of a full-featured VCR the DV-525 offers more than twice the picture quality of a VCR and a feature set usually reserved for players costing much more. For the best video possible, the DV-525 employs a 10-bit video DAC which requantizes a DVDís standard 8-bit video signal to a 10-bit signal for more accurate video processing. Component Video outputs provide a non-compromised method of transferring video from the DVD player to a component video equipped television. For A/V receiver compatibility, the DV-525 also provides S-video and composite video outputs. The DV-525 also includes Pioneerís exclusive Twin-Wave laser pickup assembly that utilizes two different laser diodes for improved playback of CDs and DVDs. This unique pickup also allows the player to read both CDR and CD-RW recordable media.Since there are many different audio formats available for DVD such as 96Khz 24-bit Audio, DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Digital, and Linear PCM, Pioneer has built the DV-525 to be compatible with all of them. The DV-525 even has the ability to output a 96Khz 24-bit digital signal from the optical or coaxial digital output. A new feature found in the DV-525ís GUI, called Setup Navigator, brings a new level of simplicity to setting up a DVD player for first time use. By selecting ""Setup Navigator"" from the playersí main menu, the player will ask five basic questions about your home theatre, such as: ""What type of TV do you have? ""16x9 or 4:3?"" and ""Does your audio system contain a Dolby Digital decoder?"" Once the questions are answered, the home theatre system is customized for an ideal home theatre experience. The DV-525 is available now at suggested retail price of $425.00
