SLS International's Sound System Utilized for 2005 JazzFest Heritage Music Weekend

SLS International announced that its sound system was utilized by the 2005 JazzFest Heritage Music Weekend, which recently celebrated its 24th anniversary recognizing the musical talent of jazz and blues. The festival, presented by Jazz Unites, Inc., took place at the South Shore Culture Club in Chicago. Notable performances by jazz musicians Julia Huff, Ernestine Anderson and Crosswind made the festival a huge success. ""We first heard about SLS Loudspeakers from a billboard featuring Quincy Jones,"" commented Geraldine de Haas, president, founder and CEO of Jazz Unites. ""We felt it would be a great tie-in to use the SLS units for JazzFest. I was absolutely spoiled by the SLS speakers. The sound was incredible. They made the festival very enjoyable and we look forward to working with them next year."" Since 1981, the Jazz Fest has brought America's classic and singular musical art to audiences from across the nation in order to help nurture jazz as a cultural expression of personal, community, spiritual and economic importance. Jazz Unites continues to showcase musical talent, assist young aspiring musicians, hold workshops and produce affordable or free public concerts for its predominantly African American audiences. Sponsors included Target, Mercedes Benz and Walgreen's. ""We were very excited to be a part of this type of event,"" said Rod Falconer, national sales manager for SLS Loudspeakers. ""We provided the LS8800s and LS8115s, which were a huge hit. The units provided full coverage without having to turn the volume up too loud. This was a great event to be a part of.""
