3-Oct-05

Image Entertainment, Inc. announced it will be releasing the first-ever stand-up DVD from outrageous comedian Gilbert Gottfried. ""Gilbert Gottfried Dirty Jokes,"" which will be released on both DVD and CD on December 6 at a suggested retail price of $14.99 and $14.98, respectively, features 50 non-stop minutes of Gottfried telling the funniest and filthiest jokes ever. The show was filmed live at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York on May 9, 2005. Also featured on the DVD are some of the funniest bonus features ever, including wild stories, indignant ranting and celebrity impressions that will leave viewers crying for more. ""This DVD is a collection of the dirtiest, grossest, most offensive and hilarious jokes ever told with absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever,"" said Gottfried. For this live performance, Gottfried puts aside political correctness and fires an onslaught of jokes that know no boundaries. At the end of the show, Gottfried tells what is known among comedians as the ""Dirtiest Joke of All Time,"" which is also the basis for the recent hit movie ""The Aristocrats,"" which also features Gottfried. ""The whole idea of getting in front of an audience and telling jokes has become somewhat of a lost art,"" said Barry Gordon, senior vice president of worldwide programming of Image Entertainment. ""Gilbert is one of the few comics who embraces joke-telling and brings it to an entirely new level."" Included on the DVD is a special message from Gottfried to the viewer, as well as the comedian's advice on how to tell a dirty joke. At the young age of 15, Gilbert Gottfried began doing stand-up at open mike nights in New York City. After a few short years, he became known around town as ""the comedian's comedian"" and was soon hired as a cast member on ""Saturday Night Live."" This led to several television appearances on ""The Cosby Show,"" ""Late Night with David Letterman"" and ""Thicke of the Night."" He then began to gain a reputation as the king of quirky roles and appeared in movies such as ""Beverly Hills Cop II,"" ""Problem Child,"" ""Problem Child II,"" ""Look Who's Talking II"" and ""The Adventures of Ford Fairlane."" After his stellar performance as the wise cracking parrot IAGO in the Disney classic ""Aladdin,"" a new career emerged for Gottfried as a successful voiceover talent. His signature voice can be heard in many commercials (the duck in the popular AFLAC Insurance commercial), cartoons (""Digit"" in the PBS series ""Cyberchase"") and movies. Recently, he was a regular on ""Hollywood Squares"" and is currently a frequent guest on both ""The Tonight Show with Jay Leno"" and ""The Howard Stern Show.""
