DVD EXPRESS announced the launch of its new name, new site and new logo - Express.com, a premier online entertainment destination. The re-launched site marks the first time a Web surfer can find video games, music, movies, auctions, entertainment news, chat, e-mail and more, all at one location. A financial merger with Maximum Holdings Inc. in January of this year brings Express.com a plethora of gaming news, information and an opportunity to buy almost any video game title available. Maximum Holdings also brings to Express.com its network of more than 32 interactive gaming sites, including GameCave.com and the leading video game magazine, Game Fan. Express.com is expected to launch its music store in April 2000. As part of this store, consumers will be able to search, browse and purchase music CDs from a catalog of approximately 240,000 titles, digitally access 30-second music samples from a selection of approximately 1.2 million songs, and read from a large selection of reviews and related articles. Digital downloads and custom CDs will be offered within the music store later in the year. Other features planned to roll out include instant messaging, where site visitors can instantaneously discuss entertainment issues and other topics of interest. Bulletin boards, chat, auctions and free e-mail are also expected to rollout mid-year.
