As a result of this partnership, THOMSON multimedia - one of the largest suppliers of consumer electronics products in the world - will leverage its pan-European distribution channels to deliver Digital Origin's IntroDV digital video editing software with its high-end DV camcorders to customers in the U.K., France, Germany and Eastern Europe. Using the IEEE 1394 standard, or FireWire, users can easily move DV content from their THOMSON DV camcorder to their personal computer, using IntroDV to edit the video, mix sound and add basic effects in preparation for distribution over the Internet in the form of streaming media.
