Excite@Home And Cox Communications Announce Interactive TV Trials

Excite@Home (NASDAQ: ATHM), the leader in broadband, and Cox Communications (NYSE: COX), the nation's fifth largest cable operator, announced an agreement to provide Internet access and Web portal services for Cox's trial of interactive television services in San Diego, California. Scheduled to begin the second half of this year, Cox will work with Excite@Home to deliver the latest innovations in broadband access and digital cable to Cox customers' television sets. Cox will enable trial participants to access an array of information, including news, weather and stock quotes as well as e-mail, shopping and instantaneous, always-on Web access. Trial participants will be able to access Excite's personalized content, applications and services via their televisions with specially equipped set-top boxes supplied by Cox.
