Analog Devices Announces Industryís First Decoder For New DTS-ES Extended Surround Digital Audio Standard

Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE:ADI) introduced the industryís first decoder for the new DTS-ES Extended Surround digital audio standard featuring a high-performance signal processing chipset and software developed by Analog Devices in conjunction with DTSÆ and Denon. The new Melodyô decoder hardware consists of a 32-bit SHARCô DSP and the industryís highest performance audio DAC, the AD1853. The software developed for this programmable chipset decodes and post processes not only DTS-ES Extended Surround (which includes both DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 and DTS ES Matrix 6.1), but also DTS Neo:6, DolbyÆ Digital and Dolby Pro LogicÆ, THXÆ and THX Surround EXô and Stereo. It features up to 50MHz, 150MFLOPS performance for 32/40-bit floating-point or 150MOPS, 32-bit integer operation. The Melody DTS-ES decoder uses the industryís highest-performance audio DAC, the AD1853, with 192kHz sampling rate, 120dB SNR/DNR, -107dB THD+N and 115dB stopband attenuation - guaranteeing the highest quality audio signal on the market today.
