Boston Acoustics Adds Center Channel Speakers To Award-Winning Lynnfield VR Series

Lynnfield VR920 And Lynnfield VR910 Deliver High-Quality Home Theatre Performance

29-Jun-00

Building on its acclaimed Lynnfield VR Loudspeaker Series, Boston Acoustics, Inc. (NASDAQ: BOSA) today introduced the Lynnfield VR920 and Lynnfield VR910 center channel loudspeakers. These high performance models sonically and aesthetically complement the award winning Lynnfield VR floor standing ""tower"" speakers to create an enveloping and exciting home theatre system. The New Lynnfield VR center channels are designed to sit on top of most TVs, featuring charcoal gray cloth grilles with black sides and black vinyl veneer. The VR920 features high-gloss black side panels that exactly match the tops of the Boston Acoustics Lynnfield VR series floor standing speakers. The Lynnfield VR920 and VR910, priced at $599.95 MSRP and $349.95 MSRP respectively, feature Bostonís patented 1-inch aluminum VR tweeter with Amplitude Modification Device (AMD). This driver produces smooth, flat response well beyond the audible range. A die-cast aluminum heatsink attached to the tweeterís backplate dissipates heat quickly and efficiently, assuring cool, trouble-free operation, even at high power levels. Boston Acoustics improved driver and tweeter configuration enables the center channel loudspeakers to feature a space-saving design, while delivering dynamic theatre-quality sound. MagnaGuardÆ magnetic shielding eliminates interference with the video monitor or TV, so the speakers can be placed close to or on top of any TV. Designed and manufactured at Boston Acousticsí own Peabody, Massachusetts facility, the VR920 and VR910 are built on Boston Acoustics proprietary production lines to the companyís exacting high standards - widely respected as the industryís tightest tolerances. Product Specifications And Technology Highlights Both the Lynnfield VR920 and VR910 feature drivers that are positioned close to each other for smooth, uniform radiation in both the horizontal and vertical axis for maximum coverage of the listening area. The cabinets feature heavy internal bracing for strength and rigidity, eliminating audible cabinet resonance. The VR920, at only 7 inches high, is a three-way design featuring Boston Acoustics new 3.5-inch midrange driver that is vertically aligned with the VR tweeter. Two active 5.25 by 7.5-inch woofers provide deep, solid bass down to 55Hz and allow a reduction in height without compromising performance. The VR920ís rear mounted vents are smoothly flared at both ends to reduce port turbulence. The VR910 is a three driver, two-way design housing the VR tweeter, one active 5.25-inch woofer and one 5.25-inch passive radiator. It is a mere 6 inches high. Distribution The Lynnfield VR920 and VR910 are sold at Boston Acousticsí specialty retailers.
