Panasonic Brings First DVD-Audio Ready Headphones To U.S. Market

Known for cutting-edge, high-performance audio and video components, Panasonic announces the introduction of the industryís first DVD-Audio stereo headphones, model RP-HDA100. ""These new headphones can accommodate the high-frequency response required by DVD-Audio, enabling users to experience the subtle nuances and ambience for which this standard will become known."" Using a Two-Way Double-Drive Speaker System (large 57mm woofer and 20mm tweeter) and full open-air design, the new RP-HDA100 stereo headphones can reproduce the 3Hz-100kHz ultra-wide frequency range used by DVD-Audio, helping the listener enjoy the greater fidelity produced by this new standard in a more private setting. These headphones also feature a 32-ohm/1kHz Impedance rating, 100dB/mW sensitivity and 1000mW power handling capacity. Equipped with a self-adjusting headband and weighing a mere 11.29 ounces, these headphones are extremely comfortable to wear. They feature a 10-foot detachable cord, allowing the user more than ample freedom to move around during use. And, should the listener become unexpectedly caught on an object while wearing the headphones, the cord will automatically detach, preventing damage to the headphones themselves.The RP-HDA100 DVD-Audio stereo headphones, which are available in an attractive silver with metallic blue accents, will be available this fall. The price has not yet been announced.
