Smart Theater System (STS) Debuts At IAAPA 2000

Technifex, Inc. and Oceaneering Entertainment Systems announce a team effort to produce a new line of theatre products - Smart Theater System (STS). The STS consists of the Smart Grid and Smart Seats, two separate products that allow theatre owners to produce and operate multiple-effects shows in their theatres. These products are designed to substantially enhance an audience's involvement by adding effects such as water spritzers, air blasts, localized audio, and eerie tactile sensations at key moments to a show""If you want a snake sliding across your chair, cockroaches crawling over your feet, bullets singing past your ear, or a tropical rain storm in your theatre, the Smart Seat will do it,"" says Monty Lunde, one of the principal partners at Technifex, Inc. ""Working with Oceaneering, we jointly developed the effects seat, then saw an opportunity to add many of those effects to an overhead grid system so operators could run the same shows without replacing any of their seats. They are both exciting systems,"" concludes Lunde.
