CBS Television and Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc. (MDEA) have entered into an agreement in which MDEA will sponsor high definition coverage of the semi-finals and finals of the 2000 U.S. Open Tennis Championships. It is the second consecutive year MDEA has sponsored CBS's HDTV coverage of the U.S. Open.CBS Sports will produce 18 hours of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships for high definition broadcasts on Friday, September 8 (11am-6pm), Saturday, September 9 (11am-7pm) and Sunday, September 10 (4-7pm, all times Eastern). The HDTV telecasts, which will be broadcast live by CBS Sports' Tim Brando and Tony Trabert from the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York, will be produced and transmitted independent of the network's analog broadcast coverage.
