Marantz Introduces New Home Theatre And Audio Components At CEDIA EXPO 2000

At CEDIA EXPO 2000, Marantz America showcased new state-of-the-art video display devices and widescreen HDTV-ready projection TVs, the world's first THX Ultra-certified DVD-Video mega-changer, the new SR-18EX Digital Surround Receiver and a wealth of additional specialist video and audio components. Here's an overview of the latest from Marantz: Marantz PD4298HD Plasma TV Monitor Marantz's new PD4298HD High Definition Plasma Display sets a new standard in plasma TV display image quality, incorporating leading-edge digital video technologies that enable it to display images with true HDTV resolution. The PD4298HD (suggested retail price $18,999) delivers images of unprecedented clarity, brightness and contrast from a 42-inch widescreen (16:9) display with a super-slim chassis less than 3 1/2 inches deep, and accepts the input from virtually any digital and analog video source including the video output from a computer up to SXGA resolution. In addition, Marantz is introducing its PD4292D Digital Widescreen Plasma Monitor, an upgraded version of the previous model PD4290 with greater brightness, improved contrast and a host of performance and convenience enhancements. The PD4292D (SRP $12,999) weighs almost 17 pounds less than the previous model, making it easier to install than ever before. VP8100 DLPô Projector Presenting the next generation in Marantz front projection display devices: the new VP8100 DLPô Projector. The VP8100 (SRP $12,499) uses advanced Digital Light Processingô technology to produce images of exceptional brightness with a remarkable 800:1 contrast ratio, and is capable of true HDTV resolution. The ultra-portable VP8100 is compatible with virtually any video program source, and features an improved P-VIP lamp system that delivers bright, clear pictures at screen sizes up to 275 inches diagonal measurement. Marantz Rear-Projection TVs Marantz debuted two new high-performance HDTV-ready widescreen projection televisions, the 60-inch PV6080W and the 55-inch PV5580W. Both sets are DTV-compatible and will display 480p and 1080i HDTV images with no conversion, as well as analog NTSC broadcasts upconverted to a 480p display. The PV6080W and PV5580W incorporate leading-edge optics and digital video technologies for unsurpassed projection TV picture quality, along with convenience features that maximize big-screen home theatre viewing enjoyment.
