Genelec Introduces The HTS3 And HTS4 Active Subwoofers

Genelec, Inc., U.S. distributor of Genelec Active Home Theater Systems, has expanded their line of home theatre products with the addition of the new HTS3 and HTS4 active home theatre subwoofers. Both models are suitable for use with any of Genelecís Active Home Theater Systems and can also be added to any existing system by other manufacturers.The HTS3 features a 10-inch long-stroke active driver, combined with two 10-inch passive radiators, has a frequency response of 18Hz to 120Hz and a maximum SPL of 114dB. Designed for use in the small to medium sized home theatre environment, the HTS3 is electronically bandpassed, has a signal sensing auto-on/off circuit, plus level and phase controls. This ensures coherent matching between the HTS3 and the main speakers, regardless of their physical position in the room. In addition, the HTS3 includes XLR and RCA line level input connectors (with input sensitivity) for easy connection to all types of popular decoders, as well as a Link Out connector which allows coupling of two or more subwoofers together when even higher sound pressure levels are required. Coupling multiple subwoofers together using the Link Out adds 6dB for a system of two, 9.5dB for three and 12dB for a system of four subwoofers. The HTS3 measures a compact 22 (L) x 12 10/16 (W) x 12 10/16 (D) inches.Designed for the larger home theatre/multimedia environment, Genelecís HTS4 active subwoofer features a specially designed 12-inch long-stroke active driver with two 12-inch passive radiators, has a frequency response of 18Hz to 120Hz, and a maximum SPL of 119dB. Like the HTS3, the HTS4 is electronically bandpassed, has a signal sensing auto-on/off circuit, plus level and phase controls. The HTS4 also includes XLR and RCA line level input connectors (with input sensitivity) for easy connection to all types of decoders, as well as a Link Out connector, which allows coupling of two or more subwoofers together.
