CEA Convergence Forum Provides Latest Insight On Digital Home

Industry leaders will present new consumer research results and discuss the challenges and opportunities of the digital home at the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) Convergence Forum on October 17 in San Francisco, California. The session, featuring a keynote by Cisco System's Mike Moone, will take place at the 2000 Consumer Electronics Association Industry Forum and Fall Conference. In a keynote address, ""Creating The Digital Home,"" Moone, the Group Vice President of Cisco's consumer line of business, will give his perspective on today's challenges and catalysts for convergence. Following the keynote, Moone will be joined by Mark Bridgwater, Vice President of Marketing for Digital Harmony Technologies, Christian Jorgensen, Technology Evangelist for Sony Electronics and Elliott Newcombe, Director of Product Marketing for Intellon Corp., for a panel discussion moderated by Trisha Parks of Parks Associates. The panel will discuss industry initiatives to grow converging technology product markets and review issues affecting convergence such as standards, consumer awareness, distribution, education and digital entertainment. Tim Herbert, Staff Director of CEA Market Research, will present results from recent consumer research demonstrating buying trends for current products and levels of interest in emerging technologies. Subtitled ""Leading Edge: Seizing Opportunities In The Digital Age,"" the conference will provide attendees with insight into the digital future and the tools they need to lead in the consumer technology marketplace. The three-day event will include educational sessions, CEA member meetings and a CE Industry Marketplace featuring tabletop exhibits by sponsoring companies. Industry Forum attendees will receive discounted admission to Parks Associates Forum2000.
